Robert Jenkins

Robert “Bobby” Jenkins is a member of the Circle of Hope Board of Directors, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Central Baptist Church, a member of the Sons of Beaufort Masonic Lodge #3, and a member of the Beaufort County Coroner’s Office. Mr. Jenkins’ adult life has been defined by his passion for public and community services:  most notably is his extensive background in law enforcement. As a trail-blazer, he joined the Beaufort City Police Department in 1965 , which was just the beginning of a stellar career in law enforcement. In 1966 he was recruited by the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Department where he served, with dedication and distinction until 1978.  In 1980, he advanced his career by joining the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, where he meritoriously served for twenty-eight years. During the pinnacle of his career, he was appointed as Special Deputy U.S. Marshall for South Carolina and provided security for the late U.S. Senator Strom Thurmond and for both Vice-President Al Gore, when visited South Carolina and President Bill Clinton, during  his Annual Renaissance Retreat on Hilton Head Island.
