Department of Veteran Affairs
As a part of its Street Outreach Ministry, the Circle of Hope Ministries works to locate, identify and refer homeless veterans to the Department of Veterans Affairs to screen veterans for eligibility for HUD/Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing Vouchers (HUD/VASH). Once a determination is made that the veteran qualifies for rental assistance, we help with the veterans transition from homelessness into their own residence. We help the veteran to locate affordable rental units and provide free furniture and household goods from our Veterans First Thrift Store.
The members of the Sun City Veterans Association (SCVA) provide food, clothing, blankets, sleeping bags, backpacks, donated furniture and financial support for our mission to assist our veterans. The above photo was taken during a site visit to our thrift store by members of the SCVA Executive Committee: (From right to left are Tom BeGasse, SCVA Trustee and Past Commander; Rev. Dr. John C.
